Guest lectures in Advanced/Accelerated Computer Systems (in this folder) [ NOTE THAT TWO of the GUEST LECTURES include AN OPTIONAL EXTRA CREDIT HOMEWORK (*-apr-10-hw.docx and *-apr-14-hw.txt, below). As discussed in class, if you do one of the two extra credit assignments, it will be added to your raw cumulative course score. The homeworks are 20% of your course grade. So, one extra credit hw adds 20%/8 = 2.5% extra credit to your course raw score. If you do a second extra credit hw, that score will replace the lowest score of your current homework grades. Any extra credit hw must be submitted by the end of Thurs. April 23. I may choose to orally quiz you on your extra credit homework submission after the final exam, to ensure that the work is truly your own. (If time permitted, I would quiz everybody. Asking you to submit to an oral quiz does _not_ mean that I suspect you of cheating.) Also, please note that /course/cs4973/homework has two scripts to submit the extra credit: submit-cs4973-hw-extra1 submit-cs4973-hw-extra2 Use extra1 for the first optional exttra credit. Use extra2 only if you are submitting two optional extra credit assignments. And please add a README.txt file to explain what you are submitting, and which extra credit it is, and how it fits with any files that were given. ] * Distributed Systems (.pptx) (Prof. Nita-Rotu, Apr. 7, 2026) * Software Security (software-security-apr-10.pdf) (Prof. Zhao, Apr. 10, 2026) + Software Security optional homework (for extra credit) software-security-apr-10-hw.docx * os-implementation-apr-14.html + os-implementation-apr-14-hw.txt
